Edmund Hillary was a climber from New Zealand and Tenzing Norgay, a Sherpa from India. They together reached the top of Mount Everest on May 29, 1953.

After they had returned to Kathmandu, a childish controversy had already arisen from nowhere regarding who reached the top first.

In order to discontinue the controversy from spreading further, they made a pact and signed that in Nepal's Prime Minister's office on June 22, 1953.

The author had a clear sight that it did not matter to him who reached the top first, Hillary or him. He strongly believed that they together made the impossible possible.
