The pair of equations are x=a.... (i)& y = b.....(ii)

Line given by (i) intersects x- axis and parallel to y-axis

Line given by (ii) intersects y-axis and parallel to x- axis

The point of intersection of both the lines will have same abscissa as ( i) i.e.a and same ordinate as (ii) i.e.b

Thus they intersect at (a,b), Where a and b are real numbers. Hence the answer is intersecting at (a,b).
