Compare pair of linear equation 2 X + 3 Y + 7 =0 and 5 x + k y - 8 =0 with

a1x + b1y +c1 = 0 and

a2x+b2y+c2 = 0 , we get

a1 = 2 , b1 = 2 , c1 = 7;

a2 = 5 , b2 = k , c2 = -8

a1/a2 = b1/b2 ≠ c1/c2

[ Since , equations has no

solution ]

=> 2/5 = 3/k

=> 2k = 15

=> k = 15/2

Therefore ,

k = 15/2
