Answer:

In rectangle

AB=20cm

BC=14cm

Area of rectangle=l×b

20×14cm=280cmsq

Now we take semi circle of diameter of BC 14 cm

So area of semicircle is 22/7×square of radius divide by 2 because it is half of circle

Radius is 7cm it is half of diameter

So area is (22/7×7×7)/2=154/2=77cmsq

Area of remaining part is area of rectangle -area of semicircle

So 280cm - 77cm = 203 cm sq.

Step-by-step explanation:

In rect.ABCD

length=20cm

breadth=14cm

Area=l*b

=20cm*14cm

=280cm^2

In semi circle with BC as diameter

radius=d/2

=14cm/2

=7cm

area of semi circle=1/2πr^2

=1/2*22/7*7^2

=1/2*22/7*49

=77cm^2

Area of the remaining portion=area of rectangle -area of semi circle

=280cm^2 -77cm^2

=203cm^2
