the parallel side of a trapezium are at a distance of 5cm and in the ratio of 2:5 if the length of longer side is 15cm find the area of trapezium

if longer side is 15 cm then 
5x=15
x=15/5=3
therefore,shorter side
=2x=2*3=6
hence area of trapizium
=1/2*5*(15+6)
=1/2*5*21
=52.5cmsqare

Ratio of parallel sides=2:5
If longer side is 15 cm then other side=6 cm
Area of trapezium= 1/2 x (sum of parallel sides) x distance between the sides
=1/2 x (6+15) x 5
=105/2
=52.5 cm²
