Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Opposite sides are 60 cm and 77 cm respectively.

First draw a trapezium abcd for better understanding. Let the longer parallel side be 77 cm and the shorter one be 60 cm.

Then let the slope on the right side be 26 cm and the slope on the left be 25 cm.

Now draw a the a line perpendicular from the base of the trapezium which intercepts the end of the 60 cm line on the left side. And draw a line parallel to the 26 cm line from the same point (from the end of the 60 cm line on the left side.)

So now we use use the pythogoras theorem so in triangle afd

Da =25 cm

Af=8.5 cm =1\2 of 17 cm

Df =x

X^2 =25^2 -8. 5^2

=625-72.25

=552.75

X =√552.75

X=23.51 rounded of to 23.5

So distance between the sides = 23.5 cm

Area =1/2*(60+77) *23.5

Area =1609.75 because I took the height as 23.5 and not. 51 although to be more precise we should take 23.51
