Given: The two // sides of a trapezium are 20 m and 15 m. & the distance (h), b/w them is 10 m.

Need to find: The Area of trapezium?

⠀⠀⠀━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━⠀

» We've to find out the area of the trapezium & to calculate the Area of trapezium formula is Given by :

\qquad\:\star\;\underline{\boxed{\pmb{\frak{Area_{\;(trapezium)} = \dfrac{1}{2}\Bigg \lgroup x + y\Bigg\rgroup h}}}}

where:

  • x and y are the // sides of trapezium.
  • h is the distance b/w the // sides.
  • Given sides are 20 m and 15 m.⠀⠀

\underline{\bf{\dag} \:\mathfrak{Substituting\;values\;in\; formula\: :}}\\\\

:\implies\sf\quad Area = \dfrac{1}{2}\Bigg\lgroup x + y \Bigg\rgroup h\\\\\\

:\implies\sf\quad Area = \dfrac{1}{2}\Bigg\lgroup 20 + 15\Bigg\rgroup 10\\\\\\

:\implies\sf\quad Area = \dfrac{1}{\cancel{\;2}}\times 35 \times \cancel{10}\\\\\\

:\implies\sf\quad Area = 35 \times 5\\\\\\

:\implies\quad\underline{\boxed{\pmb{\frak{Area=175}}}}\\\\

\therefore{\underline{\sf{Hence,  \: the \:  Area  \: of  \: trapezium \:  is \:  \pmb{\sf{175\;m^2}}.}}}

Given :-

The parallel sides of a trapezium are 20 m and 15 m, and the distance between them is 10 m

To Find :-

Area of trapezium

Solution :-

We know that

Area = 1/2 × (a + b) × h

Area = 1/2 × (20 + 15) × 10

Area = 1/2 × 35 × 10

Area = 1/2 × 350

Area = 350/2

Area = 175 cm²

Hence

Area of trapezium is 175 cm²
