The parallel sides of a trapezium are 10 m and 12 m and the distance between then is 8 m . What is the area of the Trapezium ?

area of trapezium=(a+b) h/2

=(10+12)8/2

=22×8/2

∴(AD)2+(ED)2+(AE)2

102=h2+62

∴h=100−36

h=8 cm

Area of trapezium=21×Sum of parallel sides×Distance between them.

=21(18+12)×8

=21(30)×8

=30×4 =120 cm2.
