The parallel sides of a trapezium are 10 cm and 40 cm. If each of the non-parallel side is 25 cm, find the area of trapezium.

║⊕ANSWER⊕║

SOMETHING YOU NEED TO KNOW FIRST

Formula to find area of trapezium  = 1/2 * h * ( a + b )

SOLUTION

h => height

a and b are parallel sides of the trapezium

Area of the trapezium  = 1/2 * 25 * ( 10 + 40 )

                                        = 1/2 * 50 * 25

                                        = 625 cm²

∴ Area of the trapezium is 625 cm²
