the formula for area if trapezium is (a+b)h/2
where a and b are length of parallel sides and h is the height of the trapezium
using Pythagoras theorem
x^2 + h^2 = 13^2 eq1
and
(10-x)^2 + h^2 = 15^2 eq2
using eq1
x=(169-h^2)^(1/2)
using eq2
x=10 - (225 - h^2)^(1/2)
on solving we get h=(164.16)^(1/2)
plugging into the first formula
(20+30)*((164.16)^(1/2))/2
=320.3123476…….
