Step-by-step explanation:

Let the measure of the two parallel sides a, b of the trapezium = 12 cm and 8 cm. Area of a trapezium = ½ ×( a+b)×height, => 60 cm² = ½ ×(12 cm + 8 cm)× height, ==> height = 60 cm² ×2/20 cm= 6 cm.

S O L U T I O N :

Given :

  • The parallel sides of a trapezium = 21 cm & 17 cm
  • Distance between trapezium, (h) = 8 cm

Explanation :

As we know that formula of the area of trapezium :

  • Area = 1/2 × (sum of bases) × height

According to the question :

➠ Area of trapezium = 1/2(sum of base) × height

➠ Area of trapezium = 1/2 × (21 + 17) × 8

➠ Area of trapezium = 1/2 × (38) × 8

➠ Area of trapezium = (38 × 4)cm²

➠ Area of trapezium = 152 cm²

Thus,

The area of trapezium will be 152 cm² .
