Given :-

  • length parallel sides of trapezium = 54 cm and 26 cm
  • area of trapezium = 600 cm²

To Find :-

  • distance between parallel sides or height of the trapezium ?

Solution :-

we know that, if ‘a’ and ‘b’ are two parallel sides of a trapezium and ‘h’ is the height of it then,

 \boxed{ \bold{ area \: of \: trapezium =  \frac{1}{2}(a + b) \times h }}

 \bold{: \implies 600 =  \frac{1}{2} (54 + 26) \times h } \\  \\  \bold{: \implies 600 =  \frac{1}{ \cancel2}  \times  \cancel{80} \times h } \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \\  \\  \bold{:  \implies 600 = 40h} \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \\  \\  \bold{:  \implies h =   \cancel\frac{600}{40} } \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \\  \\  \bold{ : \implies h = 15 } \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:

so, height or distance between two parallel sides is 15 cm
