The parallel sides of an isosceles trapezium are 40m and 24m. The length of each non-parallel side is 17m. Find the area of the trapezium.

Area of trapezium =1/2(sum of parallel sides) *height

=1/2(40+24)*h

h is (17^2 - 16^2)

=(17+16)*(17-16)

=33*1=33

Area =1/2*64*(33)^1/2
