Area of trapezium is 27.50 cm².

Step-by-step explanation:

The parallel sides of an isosceles trapezium are 8 cm and 4 cm.

Non parallel sides (FA) and (ED) are 5 cm long.

From the figure attached, in right angle Δ ABF

x² + 2² = 5² (by Pythagoras theorem)

x² + 4 = 25

x² = 21

x = √21 cm

Formula of area of trapezium :

\frac{1}{2}(\text{sum of parallel sides})\times( \text{distance between the parallel sides})

= \frac{1}{2}(4+8)( \sqrt{21})

= 6\sqrt{21}

= 27.495 ≈ 27.50 cm²

Area of trapezium is 27.50 cm²
