Step-by-step explanation:

area of trapezium= the distance between the sides× 1/2×(sum of parallel sides)

Let the side = x

ATQ,

384=1/2× 12× (3x+5x)

384=6×8x

384/6=8x

64=8x

x=8

therefore the sides are

8*3=24cm. AND

8*5=40cm..

Given :-

  • The parallel sides of the trapezium are in the ratio 3:5
  • Area of Trapezium = 384cm²
  • the distance between the two parallel sides is 12m

 \\

To Find :-

  • Measure of Each Side

 \\

Solution :-

⟾ Let the First Parallel Side be 3x

⟾ Let the Second Parallel Side be 5x

According to the Question :

➟ Area of Trapezium = ½ × H × (S1 + S2)

➟ 384 = ½ × 12 × ( 3x + 5x )

➟ 384 = 6 × ( 3x + 5x )

➟ 384 / 6 = ( 3x + 5x )

➟ 64 = ( 3x + 5x )

➟ 64 = 8x

➟ 64 / 8 = x

➟ 8 = x

________________

Verification :

➞ Area of Trapezium = ½ × H × (S1 + S2)

➞ Area of Trapezium = ½ × 12 × (3x + 5x)

➞ Area of Trapezium = 6 × (3 × 8 + 5 × 8)

➞ Area of Trapezium = 6 × ( 24 + 40 )

➞ Area of Trapezium = 6 × 64

384 = 384

Hence Verified

Therefore :

  • First Parallel Side = 3x = 3 × 8 = 24cm
  • Second Parallel Side = 5x = 5 × 8 = 40cm
