In a trapezium,

Parallel sides are 12 cm and 8  cm.

It is stated that the distance between parallel sides is 6 cm.

Distance between parallel sides of trapezium = height

Also,

Area of trapezium

\sf =\dfrac{1}{2}\times(sum\:of\:parallel\:sides)\:\times{height}

→ Substitute the given values in the formula :-

we get,

\sf =\dfrac{1}{2}\times\:(12+8)\times{6}

\sf =\dfrac{1}{2}\times\:{20}\times{6}

\sf =\dfrac{120}{2}

\sf =\cancel{\dfrac{120}{2}}

\sf =60

Therefore,

Area of the given trapezium is 60 cm².
