Answer: The area of parallelogram having sides 30cm, 20cm and one of its diagonal is 40cm long  is 150√15cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

Let ABCD be the given parallelogram which has sides 30cm, 20cm and one of its diagonal is 40cm

Area of parallelogram ABCD = 2 x (area of triangle ABC)
Here we will use the heron's formula to find the area of ΔABC

now  a= 30cm,  b= 20cm and    c= 40cm
Area of triangle ABC will be according to the formula
√s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

To find s, s=1/2 x (30+20+40) = 45cm

= √45(45-30)(45-20)(45-40)

=√45×15×25×5

=√5 ×9 × 5× 3×5×5×5
=√3×3×3×5×5×5×5×5
=5×3×5√15cm²
=75√15cm²
Area of parallelogram ABCD = 2 x75√15cm²= 150√15cm²

Hence, the area of parallelogram having sides 30cm, 20cm and one of its diagonal is 40cm long  is 150√15cm²
