SOLUTION

In triangle

H^2 = p^2 + b^2

(13)^2 = (12)^2 + b^2

169 = 144 + b^2

169 - 144 = b^2

b^2 = 25

b =√25

b=5m

Area of triangle =1/2 × b × h

=1/2 × 5 × 12

= 60/2

= 30m^2

Cost of leveling at the rate of per sq. m

=30 × 10

= Rs. 300

The park is in the form of a right angled triangle with hypotenuse 13 m and one side os 12 m (means altitude is 12 m)

Given :

  • Hypotenuse = 13 m
  • Perpendicular = 12 m

Find :

The cost of leveling the ttriangular park the rate of Rs. 10 per m².

According to question,

By Pythagoras Theorem,

⇒ (H)² = (P)² + (B)²

  • H = Hypotenuse
  • P = Perpendicular
  • B = Base

Substitute the known values in above formula

⇒ (13)² = (12)² + (B)²

⇒ 169 = 144 + (B)²

⇒ 169 - 144 = (B)²

⇒ 25 = (B)²

⇒ B = √25

⇒ B = 5 m

Area of traingle = 1/2 × b × h

⇒ 1/2 × 12 × 5

⇒ 6 × 5

⇒ 30 m²

Cost of leveling the triangular park at the rate of 10 per m² = 30 × 10

⇒ Rs. 300

Rs. 300 is the cost of leveling the right angle triangle at the rate of Rs. 10 per m².
