Equation representing parking charges for x hours is 10x + 30

Solution:

Given that

Parking charges of a car in hyderabad railway station for first 2 hours = 50 rupees

And 10 rupees for each subsequent hour

Need to write the equation for this.

Let assume number of hours be represented by variable x.

As for first two hours parking charges is 50,

So remaining subsequent hours are x-2

And as charges for 1 subsequent hour = Rs 10

So charges for x-2 hrs = (x - 2) \times 10 = 10x - 20

So total charges of parking for x hours = first two hours parking charges + charges for x-2 hrs = 50 + 10x – 20 = 10x + 30

Hence equation representing parking charges for x hours is 10x + 30
