• When questions are raised, the government and its members, i.e. the parliamentarians, are told of their shortcomings and the government becomes mindful of the opinion of the public.
• The government's questions are important for each MP. The minority parties play a key role in the sound running of the government. They find out shortcomings in numerous programmes and services and promote their own programmes.
