THE ABOVE REASON WAS GIVEN BY THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT.
The reason behiend partation of Bengal was to divide Hindus and Muslims so that it will be easy to rule Bengal.
This is also known as * DIVIDE AND RULE POLICY*

The Anti-British sentiments was dominant in Bengal and it was the centre of Anti British sentiments protesters. In order to suppress these development , Viceroy Lord Curzon thought dividing Bengal in the name of administration.
