the particle travels a to m along a straight line with a velocity of 8 metre per second and M2 a with the velocity of 2 metre per second then find the average velocity of the particle for the whole journey​

velocity=8m/s, let distance be y

so time taken=distance/speed=(y/8)seconds

(Second Part M to A) Same distance

velocity=2m/s, distance is y

so time=(y/2)seconds

total distance travelled=y+y=2y

total time taken=[(y/8)+(y/2)]seconds

Average speed= (Total distance traveled)/(Total time taken)

(2y)÷(5y/8)=3.5m/sec Ans.
