So diffusion is inversely proportional to Mass.

Since Ammonia molecules have a lesser atomic mass, they diffuse faster than HCl molecules.

Hence Ammonia Molecules travel faster, so in the same time, Ammonia molecules cover a greater distance than HCl molecules.
