Chlorophyll is very important as photosynthesis helps to capture the energy of 'sunlight into chemical energy'. In photosynthesis, 'chlorophyll absorbs energy' and then transforms 'water and carbon dioxide' into oxygen and carbohydrates.  

'Meristematic tissue' has a number of features, like they have 'small cells', 'thin cell walls', 'large cell nuclei', small vacuoles which may be absent too, and no intercellular spaces.
