The password for an e-mail account at West Tech has to consist of 3 letters of the alphabet followed by two digits. How many different passwords can be selected?

Step-by-step explanation:

Assuming upper case and lower case letters, we have 26+26 = 52 alphabets.

Three letters can be selected using 52*51*50 ways and there arrangement can be done in 3! ways.

Now for the remaining two places we can select using 10*9 ways and arranging them in 2! ways.

So total passwords can be generated are 52 * 51 * 50 * 3! * 10 * 9 * 2!

52 letters can be arranged in 3 places in total = 52×52×52 ways

Total numbers = 10

10 numbers van be arranged in 2 places in = 10×10 ways

Total ways = 52×52×52×10×10
