The path of a magnetic flux in a transformer should have a low reluctance.
- If there is a low resistance, then there will be a smoother flow of magnetic flux through the core material.
- Easily magnetized materials have low resistance and high permeability, whereas non-magnetic materials have high reticence and low permeability.
- The formula of reluctance is r = l/μA. The higher the value of μ, the more will be the flux flows and the lower the flux, the lesser will be the reluctance value.
