The path of light gets illuminated when passed through a blood solution.
Reason:
- Blood is a colloidal solution consisting of dispersed particles in dispersed medium.
- Whenever light rays are passed through a blood solution, the colloidal particles scatter light.
- This phenomenon is called Tyndall Effect.
- This scattering of light inside the dispersion medium leads to illumination of the path of light.
However this effect cannot be appreciated in solutions or suspensions as the particle size is not comparable to wavelength of light being passed.
