The pathogens present in the rats blood leave the body of the rat through bodily secretions or urine. These secretions can come from the nose, eyes or mouth of the rat. Often the pathogens are transmitted by the animal's bite. The germs can also be transferred through the food or water which is contaminated with rat urine or feces.
