The patient in a hospital is given soup daily in a cylindrical bowl of diameter 7cm. If the bowl is filled with soup to a height of 4cm, how much soup the hospital has to prepare daily to serve 400 patients? (use π = 22/7)

 \huge \mathfrak \color {green} \underline {\underline {Answer}}

Diameter of the bowl = 7cm

Radius: 7/2 = 3.5cm

Height: 4cm

Volume of soup in each bowl =

\pi {r}^{2} h

Value of π is 22/7, Putting the value in above eqn

=

 \frac{22}{7}  \times 3.5 \: cm \times 3.5 \: cm \:  \times 4 \: cm

 =  {154 \: cm}^{3}

The volume of 1 patient is 154 cm³

For 400 patients,

=> 400 × 154 cm³ = 61600 cm³

As 1000 cm³ = 1 litre

61600 cm³ = 61600/1000

= 61.6 litre

The hospital has to prepare 61.6 litre soup to fulfill 400 patients.
