the peak value of an alternating voltage applied to a 50 ohm resistance is 10 volt.find the rms current if the voltage frequency is 100 hz.write the equation for the instanatneous current?​

Irms = 0.14 A ; I = 0.199 cos (200πt)

Explanation:

Peak value of voltage = Vp = 10 V

Root mean square voltage= Vrms = 10/√2=7.07 V

Resistance = R = 50 ohm

So,

Irms = 7.07/50 = 0.14 A

IP = 0.14 × √2 = 0.199 A

Hence the equation for current at 100 Hz frequency will be  

I = 0.199 cos (200πt)
