Given :

  • The present age of a father 4 times the age of his son.
  • After 10 years, the age of father will become 3 times the age of his son.

To find :

  • Their present ages.

Solution :

Consider,

  • Present age of son = x years

Then,

  • Present age of father = 4x years

After 10 years,

  • Age of father = (4x+10) years
  • Age of son = (x+10) years

According to the question :-

\to\sf{4x+10=3(x+10)}

\to\sf{4x+10=3x+30}

\to\sf{4x-3x=30-10}

\to\sf{x=20}

  • Present age of son = 20 years
  • Present age of father = 4×20 = 80 years.

✰✰ ANSWER ✰✰

\implies\tt{Let\:the\:present\:age\:of\:son\:be=y\:year}

As Given that Present age of Father is four times the age of his son.So ,

\implies\tt{Father's\:age=4y}

After 10 years : -

\implies\tt{Father's\:age=4y+10}

\implies\tt{Son's\:age=y+10}

A.T.Q : -

After,10 years the age of father will become three times of his son's age..So ,

\implies\tt{4y+10=3(y+10)}

\implies\tt{4y+10=3y+30}

\implies\tt{10-30=3y-4y}

\implies\tt{-20=-1y}

\red\longmapsto\:\large\underline{\boxed{\bf\green{y}\orange{=}\purple{20}}}

Now ,

\implies\tt{Present\:age\:of\:Son=y}

\implies\tt\bold{20\:years}

\implies\tt{Present\:Age\:of\:Father=4(20)}

\implies\tt\bold{80\:years}
