Answer:

Let the present age of the son be 'x' years.

So, present age of the father = 4x years (given)

After 10 years,

Age of son= x + 10

Age of father= 4x + 10

According to the question

Father's age after 10 years = Three times of son's age after 10 years

=> 4x + 10 = 3(x + 10)

=> 4x + 10 = 3x + 30

=> 4x - 3x = 30 - 10

=> x = 20

Son's present age = 20 years

Therefore, father's present age = 4x

= 4 X 20

= 80 years

Let the present age of son be x years.

As per question :-

Given that,

The present age of a father 4 times the age of his son.

Therefore,

Present age of father will be = 4x years

After 10 years,

Age of father = (4x+10) years

Age of son = (x+10) years

According to the question :-

Given that,

After 10 years, the age of father will become 3 times the age of his son

Therefore,

4x + 10 = 3 ( x +10)

⟹ 4x +10 = 3x + 30

⟹ x = 20

Hence,

Present age of son is = 20 years

Present age of father is

= 4x

= 4×20

= 80 years.
