The percentage of an element M is 53 in its oxide of molecular formula M2O3 . Its atomic mass is about 27.

Let the mass of oxide be 100

∴∴ mass of element m is 53

Mass of oxygen is 100-53=47

∴∴ Equivalent mass of element = Mass of element / Mass of oxygen × 8

= 53/47 × 8

=9(approx)

∴∴ Atomic mass=Equivalent mass×valency

⇒9×3

⇒27amu Ans

kavya16: How?
Alisha06: Hope it helps !!!
