Molecular mass of H2O = 2 + 16

= 18

Percent of H =

 \frac{2}{18} \times 100 \\ \\ = \frac{100}{9} \\ \\ 11.11\%

Hope it helps.

Your Answer.

Atomic mass of Hydrogen(H) = 1u
Atomic mass of Oxygen (O) = 16 u

So, molecular mass of H2O
= 2 * 1 + 16
= 2 + 16
= 18 u

Mass of hydrogen in 18u of H2O = 2u

So , percentage of hydrogen present by mass of H2O is =>

 = > \frac{2}{18} \times 100 \\ \\ = > \frac{1}{9} \times 100 \\ \\ = > \frac{100}{9} \\ \\ = > 11.11

So, Answer is 11.11%
