The respective wages of the associates before increase were 792 USD and 880 USD.

• Given that the ratio of the performance bonus of two associates = 9 : 10

=> Performance bonus of one associate = 9x

Performance bonus of another associate = 10x

• If they both receive 88 USD more, their wages become (9x + 88 USD) and (10x + 88 USD) respectively.

• According to the question,

(9x + 88 USD) : (10x + 88 USD) = 10 : 11

=> (9x + 88 USD) / (10x + 88 USD) = 10 / 11

On cross-multiplying,

11 (9x + 88 USD) = 10 (10x + 88 USD)

=> 99x + 968 USD = 100x + 880 USD

=> 100x - 99x = (968 - 880) USD

=> x = 88 USD

• Putting x = 88 USD, we get,

9x = 9 × 88 USD = 792 USD

10x = 10 × 88 USD = 880 USD

• Therefore, their original wages before increase were 792 USD and 880 USD respectively.
