Their respective wages were $792 and $880  before the increase.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the amount of bonus of 2 associates are 'x'.

and the ratio of bonus of two associates are = 9 : 10

so the performance bonus of both associate = 9x : 10x ------(1)

If each them receives an increase of $88.

Now their ratio of their wages will be = 10 : 11

So the equation will be

(9x + 88) : (10x + 88) = 10 : 11

=  \frac{(9x+88)}{(10x+88)}=\frac{10}{11} --------(2)

11(9x + 88) = 10(10x + 88)

99x + 968 = 100x + 880

99x - 100x = 880 - 968

-x = -88

x = 88

Now put the value of x in equation (1)

9(88) : 10(88)  =  $792 and  $880

Their respective wages were $792 and $880  before the increase.
