Let the third side of triangle X

Perimeter = 30cm

semi \: parameter(s) =  \frac{peimeter}{2}

=> 2s = 30, S = 15

=> 12 + 12 + X = 30 => x = 6

a =  \sqrt{s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)}

Herons formula

a =   \sqrt{15 = (15 - 12)(15 - 12)(15 - 16)}  =  \sqrt{15(3)(3)(9)}

a = 9 \sqrt{15 \:  {cm}^{2} }

hope this will help you...
