Let the parallelogram be ABCD Perimeter= 40cm

AB =3x cm BC=2x cm(given)

Perimeter of parallelogram 2(3x+2x)=40

solving equation we get x=4

Also,AB=CD(opposite sides of parallelogram) 3x=2(y+1) (given)

Putting x=4

3(4)=2y+2

12=2y+2

10=2y

Hence y=5 and x=4

Answer:

y=5 x= 4

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the parallelogram be ABCD Perimeter= 40cm

AB =3x cm BC=2x cm(given)

Perimeter of parallelogram 2(3x+2x)=40

solving equation we get x=4

Also,AB=CD(opposite sides of parallelogram)

3x=2(y+1) (given)

Putting x=4

3(4)=2y+2

12=2y+2

10=2y

Hence y=5 and x=4
