The perimeter of a parallelogram is 140 cm. If one of the sides is longer than the other by 10 cm. Find the length of each of its sides.
➣ Perimeter of a parallelogram = 140 cm
➣ One of the side is longer than the other by 10 cm
➣ The length of each side of the parallelogram
➪ Let, the smaller side = x cm
➪ Let, the longer side = x + 10 cm
➪ Perimeter of Parallelogram = 2(length + Breadth)
⟼ 140 = 2(x + x + 10)
⟼ 140 = 2( 2x + 10)
⟼ = 2x + 10
⟼ 70 = 2x + 10
⟼ 70 - 10 = 2x
⟼ 60 = 2x
⟼ = x
⟼ 30 cm = x
➙ Smaller side = x = 30 cm
➙ Longer side = x + 10 = 30 + 10 = 40 cm
➦ So, the measure of the smaller side is 30 cm and the measure of the longer side is 40 cm
