Given:

The perimeter of a parallelogram is 150cm

One of its sides is greater than the other by 25cm.

Find:

The length of the sides of the Parallelogram

Solution:

Let the one side of parallelogram be 'x' cm.

Let the another side of parallelogram be 'y' cm.

One of its sides is greater than the other by 25cm.

=> x = y + 25 ........(i).

We know that,

Perimeter of parallelogram = 2(l + b)

Putting the value of 'x' from equation (i).

=> 150 = 2(x + y)

=> 150 = 2(y + 25 + y)

=> 150 = 2(2y + 25)

=> 150 = 4y + 50

=> 150 - 50 = 4y

=> 100 = 4y

=> 100/4 = y

=> 25 = y

=> y = 25

Putting the value of 'y' in equation (i).

=> x = y + 25

=> x = 25 + 25

=> x = 50

Hence, the length of the sides of the Parallelogram is 50.

I hope it will help you.

Regards.
