Answer :

  • One side = 30cm.
  • Another side = 50cm.

Explanation :

Let's say one side as \boldsymbol x cm

Then, another side will be \boldsymbol {(x + 20)} cm

We know that,

Perimeter of a parallelogram : 2(l + b)

Where,

  • l(length) = \boldsymbol x cm
  • b(breadth) = \boldsymbol{(x + 20)} cm
  • perimeter = 160cm.

 \therefore \boldsymbol{2(x + x + 20)= 160}

{\boldsymbol{\implies { 2(2x + 20) = 160}}}

{\boldsymbol{\implies { 2x + 20 =  \dfrac{160}{2} }}}

{\boldsymbol{\implies { 2x + 20 = 80}}}

{\boldsymbol{\implies { 2x = 80 - 20}}}

{\boldsymbol{\implies {2x = 60 }}}

{\boldsymbol{\implies { x =  \dfrac{60}{2} }}}

{\boldsymbol{\therefore { x = 30}}}

Hence, length of

  • One side = \boldsymbol x = 30cm.
  • Another side = \boldsymbol{ (x + 20)} = 50cm.
