Given:

  • Perimeter of s paralleogram is 25cm.
  • Measure of longer side is 8cm.

To Find:

  • The measure of shorter side.

Answer:

Given that perimeter of a || gm is 25cm and value of longer side is 8cm.

Let us take the value of longer side be x .

Now perimeter of paralleogram is given by :

Perimeter = 2(l + b)

⇒2 ( 8cm + x ) = 25cm.

⇒ 16cm + 2x = 25cm

⇒ 2x = 25cm - 16cm.

⇒2x = 9cm.

⇒x = 9cm/2.

x = 4.5cm.

Hence the value of shorter side is 4.5cm.

Some properties of paralleogram:

  • Opposite sides are equal.
  • Opposite angles are equal.
  • Diagonals bisect each other.
  • Opposite sides are parallel.
  • The sum of adjacent angles is 180°.
