Solution -

We know,

Perimeter of Parallelogram = 2(length + breadth)

Let's assume one side as x cm

So, the other side be 2x cm

According to Question,

Perimeter of parallelogram = 42 cm

⇒ 2(x + 2x) = 42

⇒ 3x = 42/2 = 21

⇒ x = 21/3

⇒ x = 7

Measurements -

One side = x cm = 7 cm

Another side = 2x cm =2(7) = 14 cm

∴ The adjacent sides of the parallelogram are 7 cm and 14 cm respectively

length of two adjacent sides of parallelogram are in ratio 1 : 2

Let the length of first side and it's opposite sides be : X cm

Therefore, the length of second adjacent side and it's opposite side be : 2X cm

Perimeter of parallelogram : 42 cm

Therefore, (X + 2X + X + 2X) = 42
= 6X = 42
= X = 42/6
= X = 7

It's adjacent side = 2 x 7 = 14 cms

THEREFORE THE FIRST SIDE OF PARALLELOGRAMS AND ITS OPPOSITE SIDE ARE 7 cms
& IT'S ADJACENT SIDE AND IT'S OPPOSITE SIDE LENGTHS ARE 14cms
