Question:-

The perimeter of a parallelogram whose adjacent sides are 6 cm and 5 cm is

  • (i) 12 cm
  • (ii) 10 cm
  • (iii) 24 cm
  • (iv) 22 cm

Required Answer:-

Given:-

  • The adjacent sides of the parallelogram are 6cm and 5cm

To Find:-

  • Perimeter of the parallelogram

Solution:-

We know that:-

  • Perimeter of parallelogram = 2(Sum of adjacent sides length)

Therefore,

Perimeter of the parallelogram = 2(6cm + 5cm)

=> Perimeter of the parallelogram = 2(6+5) cm

=> Perimeter of the parallelogram = 2*11 cm

=> Perimeter of the parallelogram = 22cm

Hence, the correct option is (iv) 22cm

A parallelogram is a quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides. The opposite sides of a parallelogram are equal in length, and the opposite angles are equal in measure. Also, the interior angles on the same side of the transversal are supplementary. Sum of all the interior angles equals 360 degrees.

A square and a rectangle are two shapes which have similar properties of a parallelogram.

Facts:-

  • Number of sides = 4
  • Number of vertices = 4
  • Mutually Parallel sides = 2 (in pair)
  • Area = Base x Height
  • Perimeter = 2 (Sum of adjacent sides length)
  • Type of polygon = Quadrilateral
