the perimeter of a rectangl is 3 times the perimeter of a square of side 12cm, if the length of the rectangle is 54cm, find the area of rectangle​

Given:-

side of square = 12cm

           length of rectangle = 54cm

TO Find:-

  • area of rectangle.

Solution:-

perimeter of square = 4×(side)

                                                  = 4×12

                                                  = 48cm

according to question,

→3×(perimeter of square) = (perimeter of rectangle)

→3×48 = 2×(l+b)

→144 = 2×(54+b)

→144/2 = 54+b

→72 = 54+b

→b = 72-54

∴ b = 18

now, area of rectangle = l×b

                                      = 54×18

                                      = 972cm
