the perimeter of a rectanglar swimming pool is 154m. Its lenght is 2m more than twice its breadth. what are the length and the width of the pool

Dimensions of the pool :

Breadth = B m

Length = L = ( 2B + 2 )m

Perimeter = 154 m

2 ( L + B ) = 154

L + B = 77

2B + 2 + B = 77

3B = 75

B = 75/3

B = 25 m

Therefore ,

Breadth = 25 m

Length = 2B + 2

L = 2 × 25 + 2

L = 52 m

Hii friend,

Let the length of the Breadth of the rectangle be X m

Then the length of the rectangle be (2X+2) m

Perimeter of rectangle = 154

2(L+B) = 154

2(2X+2 + X) = 154

4X +4 +2X = 154

6X+4 = 154

6X = 154-4=> 150


X = 150/6=> 25 m

Breadth of rectangle = X = 25 m

and,

Length of rectangle = 2X +2 = 2 × 25+2 = 52m
