Answer:

Side of square is given so perimeter will be 4*8 = 32cm.

Now given in ques, perimeter of rectangle= perimeter of square

so 32 = 2 (12 + b)

32/2 = 12 + b

b = 16 - 12

b = 4 cm

Answer:

Solution,

Here, perimeter of a rectangle = perimeter of a square

Then,

Length of square = 8cm

Perimeter of a square = 4l = 4×8 = 32cm

According to the question,

Length of rectangle = 12cm

perimeter of a rectangle = perimeter of a square

Now,

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

or, 32 = 2(12 + b)

or, 32 = 12 + b

2

or, 16 - 12 = b

. °. b = 4cm

Hence,

The required value of breadth is 4cm..
