Answer:

ar of square is bigger by 64cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

perimeter of ractangle=perimeter of square

2(l+b)=4(side)

l+b=2(side)

50+34=2(side)

84/2=side

42cm=side

so area of rectangle is l*b

ar of rectangle=50*34

ar=1700cm^2

ar of square is side*side

ar of square=42*42

ar of square=1764cm^2

ar of square - ar of rectangle

1764-1700

64cm^2

ar of square is bigger than ar of rectangle by 64 cm^2

≡ here is your answer....

Given - The perimeter of Rectangle and square is same.

L = 50cm and B = 34cm

To find - The figure which has a greater area and by how much

Calculation -

Perimeter of Rectangle = 2(l + b)

2 ( 50 + 34)

100 + 68

= 168 cm

Therefore Perimeter of square will be also 168 cm.

Perimeter of square = 4a or sum of all sides.

Let the side be x

Therefore,

4x = 168

x = 168/4

= 42

Therefore,

One Side of square = 42cm

=========================================

Now,

Calculating the area.

Area of rectangle = Length × breadth

= 50 × 34

= 1700cm²

Area of square = (Side)²

= (42)²

= 1764 cm²

Therefore Square has larger area by -

1764 - 1700 = 64cm²
