ANSWER

  • Area of square = 49cm^2.

GIVEN:

  • Length of rectangle = 8 cm
  • Breadth of rectangle= 6 cm
  • Perimeter of rectangle= Perimeter of a square.

TO FIND:

Area of square

SOLUTION:

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

= 2(8+6)

= 2(14)

= 28 cm

perimeter of rectangle= perimeter of square.

So ; perimeter of square = 28 cm

Formula

Perimeter of square = 4(side)

Now:

4(Side) = 28 cm

Side = 28/4

Side = 7 cm

Formula

Area of square = (side)(side)

Area = 7*7

Therefore Area of square = 49cm^2.

NOTE:

  • Perimeter of square = 4(side)
  • Area of square = (side* side)
  • perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)
  • Area of rectangle = length * breadth
