Perimeter of square and rectangle is equal.

Length of rectangle = 8cm

Breadth of rectangle = 6cm

Perimeter = 2 (L+B)

= 2 (8+6)

= 2 × 14

= 28 cm

Perimeter of square = 4 × S

28 cm = 4 × S

28/4 = S

7 = S

Hence , The side of a square = 7cm

Area of Square = S × S

= 7 × 7

= 49 cm²
